ECIR 2021, the 43rd edition of the annual BCS-IRSG European Conference on Information Retrieval will be held in Lucca from March 28 to April 1, 2021. ECIR is the premier European forum for the presentation of new research results in the broadly conceived area of Information Retrieval (IR), and has a strong focus on the active participation of early-career researchers.
Industry Day at ECIR 2021 will be held on April 1, 2021, immediately after the main conference program. It will bring together IR researchers, practitioners, analysts, and consumers interested in all IR-related issues concerning knowledge transfer across academia and industry. It is not too late to submit a paper. The deadline is 15 January 2021. This year, the organisers are encouraging presentations of research works carried out during student internships and showing how interns contributed impactfully on real-world products with innovative ideas. They are also seeking proposals for talks about interesting collaborations between academia and industry, or about open problems in industry that are of interest to academic and industrial researchers.
